Understanding the Process for Online Border Tax Payment
You can pay your border tax online through the CHECKPOST portal. The portal offers a single location to pay for vehicle checkpost taxes online, among other checkpost services. You can access the portal from any internet access point and deposit your due taxes through net banking facility.
The steps to start paying taxes are as follows:
- Visit the CHECKPOST portal .
- Select the state where you want to go from the Select State combo box.
- If you are not in possession of an NCR permit, choose VEHICLE TAX COLLECTION (OTHER STATE).
- From the Service Name combo box, choose the service name.
- Click on the Pay Tax button to pay the calculated tax. It opens the payment gateway of VAHAN.
- Choose the payment gateway and click on the Continue button.
- Follow the screen to pay tax. After paying tax, the bank will redirect to the Checkpost application. In case payment is successful, Checkpost application will generate the success receipt.
